    1972 AMERICAN OIL Road Map FLORIDA Miami Jacksonville Tallahassee Tampa Sambo's
    Handsome fold-out American road map of Florida, printed more than 43 years ago.
    This map opens to 25½" x 18" and has great detail on old highway alignments, with cartography by the Diversified Map Corporation. There are inset plans of Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Tampa-St. Petersburg, the greater Miami area, and the West Indies.
    The map was produced by Tempo Designs and includes a directory of hotels, motels, restaurants, and points of interest. There are a half-dozen display ads, including the Aztec Resort Motel, Howard Johnson's Aku Tiki Inn, and Sambo's Restaurant, "coffee still 10¢."
    The map was distributed by the American Oil Company in 1972 and is dated in the legend. It is identified on the front cover as the Summer-Fall 1972 edition.
