    Description

    Handsome fold-out 1970 American Oil Company road map of California, printed more than 49 years ago.
    The map opens to 23½" x 26½" and has great detail on old highway alignments, including U.S. Route 66, with cartography by the Diversified Map Corporation of St. Louis.
    Northern California is on one side; southern California is on the other.
    There are inset plans of San Francisco, Sacramento, Fresno, Los Angeles, and San Diego.
    The map was published by Tempo Designs and includes listings and ads for motels, hotels, restaurants, and attractions.
    It was distributed by American in 1970 and is dated on the back cover.
